A town of two halves

At Christmas Rye celebrates in two ways – a quieter, more restrained and older tone high up in the historic part covered by the Conservation Area (with possible planning constraints) and a louder, brighter, more joyful sound elsewhere.

And Rye News photographers have been exploring both. Ray Prewer has caught the quieter moments on the hill  while the others have been hunting out the bright lights and exuberant moments elsewhere – across the Rother and along Military Road, up hill along the Udimore Road, on the flat round Tilling Green, and among the new homes in Valley Park.
