Shoppers at Jempsons Rye had a treat on Saturday, March 24 as the supermarket had arranged an encounter with lots of baby animals. The most popular were the mini pigs which were not much bigger than a hand at five weeks old. They will grow to the size of a Staffordshire bull terrier. The woolly Welsh lambs (right) were also cute and a lot of cuddling was going on. The bird community was well represented by chicks and fuzzy ducklings and a goat and a horse rounded off the pack.
The animal meet-and-greet was laid on by Ark Animals Encounter which will be reprising the event at Jempsons in Peasmarsh on Good Friday, March 30 between 11am and 1pm.
