Rye travelled to bottom of the league Hellingly in search of another win to maintain top spot in Division 4 East
Rye captain Harry Smeed won the toss and elected to bowl.
Rye got off to a great start with James Smeed claiming a wicket in his first over to put Rye on top. A 62 run partnership between Hook and Gape got Hellingly back on track but the introduction of Harry Smeed paid off immediately as he removed Hook for 22 and in the next over Tobias Farrow removed Hutchings to leave Hellingly 64-3. What happened next will go down as missed chances for Rye as Rippengal (56) alongside Gape (77) took Hellingly to 176. Cleon Reece was introduced and he removed Both batsmen in quick succession to have Rye back in it at 184-5. Wickets continued to fall with Harry Smeed picking up 4 of them to leave Hellingly 209-8 but a partnership of 38 took them to a competitive total of 247 all out off the final ball.
Rye felt confident in the run chase but got off to a bad start losing three quick wickets to leave them 45-3. Rye Concepts man of the match James Hamilton (69) and Dan Seabrook (64) took Rye to 119 and when Mickey Toomey (56) joined Seabrook they put on a further 81 to leave Rye 200-5 a few wickets fell at the end but a mixture of great running between the wickets and finding the boundary at the right time ensured Rye won with an over to spare. Another great win for the side, keeping them top of the league.

Robertsbridge 2nd XI 140
With Skipper Ben Clifton returning to the side and winning the toss, Robertsbridge were asked to bat on a baking hot day, in a match sponsored by The Mermaid Inn. The opening pair for Robertsbridge made light work of the opening bowlers putting on 69 for the first wicket. On came Martin Blincow (16–1-6-31) and Ben Clifton (16 – 3-4-22) to completely tie the Robertsbridge batsmen up. Once Robert Goodsell was dismissed for 43, and Peter Goodsell for 25, Robertsbridge were spun out for 140, with Alastair Neil the only other batsmen to reach double figures.
After tea Rye set about knocking off the total and gaining a valuable 30 points. After an early loss of opener Ellis Hatter, Luke Payton (48) and Mark Cook (21) made the opening bowlers pay, putting on 79 for the second wicket. There was a wobble of wickets at 90, but contributions from Harry Rhys Jones (38*) and Gary Willis (12*) got Rye across the line, to win by 5 wickets. Rye now sit 6th in Division 6 East of The Sussex County League.
This Saturday Rye 1sts travel to Cuckfield 2nds, the 2nd XI host Lewes Priory 1st XI in a match sponsored by The Mermaid Inn. The 2nds now embark on the second half of the season, playing 45 over limited format. The 3rds are again without a fixture as Bexhill 5th XI withdrew from the league.
On Monday the U11s travel to Tenterden, on Tuesday the U15s host Mersham and on Thursday the U13s also host a team from Mersham.
