East Guldeford is one of the smallest villages in East Sussex with 30 houses and about 70  residents. The villagers meet every Wednesday morning at the farm shop and although a small village, they still organise several community events each year.

On Saturday August 11 a large gathering of villagers of East Guldeford and their friends had a barbeque of lamb and beef burgers and sausages at the church grounds. In St Mary’s church there were slices of cakes baked by the ladies of the village and cup of tea to enjoy, to the accompaniment of folk music played by local musicians.

The local model aircraft club that flies from East Guldeford had a display of its model aircraft outside the church.

Coming up next at East Guldeford is the flower festival and teas in the church on Saturday and Sunday October 6 and 7. October 7 is also the Harvest Festival service and Saturday November 3, bonfire night, also at the church.

On July 30 Salts Farm shop hosted a petanque competition that raised £98 for St Michael’s Hospice. The competition was won by a team from Pub 31, Winchelsea Beach and runner-up was the Rose & Crown, Beckley. A thank you to Romney Brewery who donated their lovely Amber Ale.
