Space. Coworking is a new, members-only facility based in The Old Cinema Building on Fishmarket Road in Rye, offering hot-desking, dedicated desks, lock-up office space, meeting rooms and regular community events to support local businesses.

Co-working as a movement came about to help meet the needs of often isolated solo entrepreneurs and small businesses seeking a more productive work environment alongside like-minded individuals.  Typically, co-working spaces offer flexible and financially attractive alternatives to traditional office rental for businesses of all sizes.

They are commonplace in cities the world-over and increasingly, the movement is filtering down at a more local level with smaller boutique centres opening in towns and rural areas.

Space. Coworking co-founder Jane Brook shares her vision, “The way in which we work is changing. Successful co-working spaces are vibrant communities and a hotbed for inspiration, innovation and collaboration and our new facility will provide contemporary workplace options to serve the professional demographic in the town and surrounding villages.  I am excited to be introducing co-working to Rye!”

To introduce the offering, a free business networking event is being held at The Old Cinema, Fishmarket Road, Rye, on Thursday September 13 from 5:30pm – 7pm with guest speakers Rebekah Gilbert, Chair of the Rye Area Business Forum and serial entrepreneur Paul Andrews CEO of Fruitworks Coworking, Canterbury.
