Simon Aylett’s epic 2,000-mile bike ride from Rye to Syracuse, Sicily finally got away on Saturday morning September 1. Meridian TV was on hand to film the send-off and to interview Simon’s wife Sarah, who spoke of his determination to win his five-year battle with prostate cancer.
A crowd of well-wishers turned out and some accompanied Simon on the initial stage of his journey, which will raise money for research into finding a cure for the disease . Photo: Sarah Williams
