It was not a good weekend for the 1st and 2nd teams of Icklesham Casuals, with both sides suffering heavy defeats.
The 1st team conceded a goal in the opening minute of their Hastings Junior Cup second round tie at home to Wadhurst United. By the break they were 2-0 down and then shipped a further four second-half goals. A hat-trick from Lee Bates, two goals from Callum Christie and one from John Penny secured a 6-0 win for Wadhurst.
The 2nd team also started badly and were 3-0 down after 20 minutes of their East Sussex Football League Six game with Sedlescombe Rangers III. They fought back but eventually went down 7-2. They did have the consolation of scoring the goal of the game, when Joe Fraser lobbed the Sedlescombe keeper from fully 40 yards. Mason Maddox netted the other goal for Icklesham.

Two own goals in the opening few minutes put Sedlescombe 2-0 up before Sacha Patterson headed in to reduce the arrears in the 19th minute. After 28 minutes Pete Gumbrell was brought down in the area and Sacha Patterson equalised from the resultant penalty and in the 34th the minute he completed a 15-minute hat-trick by finishing off a superb move involving Martin Tytherleigh and Gavin Moor. Two minutes later Martin Tytherleigh netted to put Icklesham 4-2 ahead at he interval.
