Rye Bay under 8s were at home against Hastings Wanderers and the under 12s were at home to Little Common last weekend. It was a perfect morning for a game of football and in the warm up the boys were full of joy and smiles everywhere as usual. Starting line up was Kevin Tucker, Oliver Macdonald, George Buss, Evan Whiting, Archie Macdonald and Theo Cornell, with Thomas James and Jamie Beard as subs.

The first half was very entertaining; in fact, probably some of the best football the boys have played. Chances for both teams. Kevin Tucker took his captain role well, making some great saves. The second half was not as good, with Rye Bay boys on the back foot, but overall it was a great performance, with Kevin Tucker being man of match. Evan Whiting grabbed a couple of great goals as well.

A huge thank you to the Crown Inn of Rye for becoming our sponsors for the season and also a huge thank you to all the parents for helping out – and well done to Gary for refereeing the game.

In the under 12s, the teams were well matched, both playing some excellent football. Good defending with Liam Wearing, who was outstanding in goal. Little Common were given two penalties but managed to convert only one of them. Rye Bay kept the pressure on and ended victorious with a hat trick by Kai Jerrey; final score 3-1. Keep it up boys you are doing a great job and as usual gave 110%.
