Vice explores the epic story about how a bureaucratic Washington insider quietly became the most powerful man in the world as Vice-President to George W Bush, reshaping the country and the globe in ways that we still feel today. Directed by  Adam McKay (The Big Short) and starring Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Steve Carell, Bill Pullman, Sam Rockwell and Alfred Molina.

Can You Ever Forgive Me? [15] 106 mins
Nominated for three Oscars including Best Actor for Melissa McCarthy and Best Supporting Actor Oscar for Richard E Grant.
Melissa McCarthy stars as Lee Israel, the best-selling celebrity biographer (and cat lover) who made her living in the 1970s and 80s profiling the likes of Katharine Hepburn, Tallulah Bankhead, Estée Lauder and journalist Dorothy Kilgallen. When Lee found herself unable to get published because she had fallen out of step with the marketplace, she turned her art form to deception, abetted by her loyal friend Jack (Richard E Grant).

The Mule [15] 116 mins
Earl Stone is a man in his 80s who is broke, alone, and facing foreclosure of his business when he is offered a job that simply requires him to drive. Easy enough, but, unbeknownst to Earl, he’s just signed on as a drug courier for a Mexican cartel. Directed by and starring Clint Eastwood with Bradley Cooper, Michael Peña, Dianne Wiest and Andy Garcia.

When Tony Lip, a bouncer from an Italian-American neighbourhood in the Bronx, is hired to drive Dr Don Shirley, a world-class black pianist, on a concert tour from Manhattan to the Deep South in 1962, they must rely on the Green Book to guide them to the few establishments that were then safe for African-Americans. Confronted with racism, danger – as well as unexpected humanity and humour – they are forced to set aside differences to survive.
