Father Firefighter’s parcel post

Rye Fire Station is again assisting Santa with his local deliveries this year. Gift givers can drop off their clearly labelled parcels on Christmas Eve between 9am and 3pm at the Ferry Road station. The following day, Santa Claus will pick them up first thing and will begin his deliveries to Rye, Camber, Iden, Udimore, Winchelsea, Winchelsea Beach and Rye Harbour.

On Christmas Eve, children are welcome to have a look at the fire engines, if it isn’t too busy. There is a small charge of £2 per parcel, which goes to the Firefighters Charity, an organisation that supports serving and retired staff members and their families. Last year Rye Fire Station raised more than £600.

This is a fabulous service and I recommend it to anyone –  not just kids.
