Humble Boy by the Fairlight Players
Loosely based on Hamlet, Humble Boy, by Charlotte Jones premiered at the National Theatre in 2001 with Diana Rigg and Simon Russell Beale in the leading roles. It is a play about the relationship between a mother and a son and how each of them responds to the death of James Humble, Felix’s father and Flora’s husband. It also covers the joys of bee keeping. The play won the Critic’s Choice award and the People’s Choice award for best new play. The play is both sad and funny in equal measure and hopefully a little bit magical.
Fairlight Players are proud to be presenting Humble Boy over the 9th 10th and 11th May at 7:30 with a matinee at 2:30 on the Saturday. There will be a very reasonably priced bar at all the evening performances. The cast include: Tom Miller, Kerry Gentleman, Andrew Godfrey, Clare Murray, Imogen Willets and Keith Miller. Come for a wonderful evening’s entertainment which will make you think, laugh and cry.
