A challenging 10 mile race along the quiet country lanes around Peasmarsh and Rye took place last Sunday May 26, when 226 runners set off from Jempson’s superstore in Peasmarsh.

First home was Simon Heath of Brighton Phoenix Club (54 mins/45 secs), followed by David Ayling of Hailsham Harriers (60 mins/10 secs) and Paul Jones of Wadhurst Runners (61 mins/11 secs). Of the first 30 runners, no less than 19 were classed as Male Vets.

The race held as part of the Sussex Grand Prix, was organised by Nice Work in conjunction with the Peasmarsh Memorial Hall Committee to help raise funds for the Village Hall.

Nice Work is a specialist race management company, organising more than 140 races across the UK each year on behalf of running clubs, charities, local authorities and private companies.
