History through tapestry

Last weekend, June 8 and 9, was the last opportunity this month for the public to see the amazing Hastings Tapestry at the new creative arts centre at Bridge Point, Rock Channel. It was set out in the transformed interior of the old Bourne’s warehouse.
Richard III

The 27 tapestry panels with scenes from the history of Britain from 1066 to the reign of our current Queen, had been stored, away from public view, for many years and it was something of a coup for the Bridge Point management to obtain these for their first exhibition.

Fascinating to those interested in history, it was also an opportunity for those who know less of our heritage to learn and understand more.
Further dates to view the tapestry are:
Saturday Jul 13 and Sunday Jul 14
Saturday Aug 25 and Sunday Aug 26
Saturday Sep 14 and Sunday Sep 15
Saturday Oct 12 and Sunday Oct 13
