The 2019 Rye Arts Festival is now over. During the past two weeks Rye has entertained a wide range of events – film, music, art, theatre, walks, talks and much more. “You should have been there” the lucky audiences have told us. So, keep your diaries free for the first weekend in November when the festival will be bringing more events to Rye.
At the end of the festival, Guy Fraser-Sampson, announced his retirement as chairman of the festival trustees for personal reasons. During his time as chairman, he has been leading the way on the difficult task of modernising how the festival is run. Audiences will have seen him recently introducing and supporting festival events. The festival board and organisers wish him well.
Plans for the 2020 festival have started. The 49th annual Rye Arts Festival will take place from September 12 to 26, 2020. If you would like to become involved with bringing the arts to Rye, the festival organisers would like to hear from you. Volunteers with a wide range of administrative, creative, marketing or other skills are needed. If you would like to be involved, Rye Arts Festival would be pleased to hear from you via secretary@ryeartsfestival.org.uk
