Today (Thursday, June 4) is a day to remember, for, after many weeks the Thursday weekly market has finally returned to Rye. You can’t miss the signs telling you it’s all back on and the mystery of the yellow markings on the car park has now been resolved, they are there to mark out the social distancing boundaries to keep us all safe.
Most of the traders are back, customers are coming back too, the only thing missing at the moment are the coaches but give it time. There was a definite air of positivity and relief this morning and despite the overcast weather the market car park was once again a hive of industry.

Good to see the market open and traders returning!
But despite the loosening of the lockdown and the welcoming of visitors to the town, there are still no public toilets….
