Sally-Ann Hart, MP for Hastings and Ry,e today congratulated local good cause Rye Harbour Sailability as it received a welcome funding boost thanks to players of People’s Postcode Lottery.
Rye Harbour Sailability was recently awarded £19,617 from People’s Postcode Trust, a grant giving charity funded entirely by players of People’s Postcode Lottery. The funding will enable the organisation to continue its work in Hastings and Rye.
Rye Harbour Sailability enables local people with a wide range of disabilities to enjoy the fun and freedom of sailing with an experienced helmsman and crew. The funding will go towards the purchase of a second adapted sailboat which will allow the organisation to take an additional six people out sailing.
Congratulating the organisation, Sally-Ann Hart said: “I’m delighted to hear that Rye Harbour Sailability has been successful in securing funds from People’s Postcode Trust. This award will make a real difference to the work that it is doing across Hastings and Rye and my thanks must go to players of People’s Postcode Lottery for helping to make this possible.”
Since 2005, over £600 million has been raised for more than 8,500 charities and good causes by players of People’s Postcode Lottery. This includes thousands of grassroots projects in communities across Britain.
The next opportunity for groups to apply for funding will be in early 2021. Those interested in the opportunity can find out more information by visiting the trusts’ websites:
