Robert James “Bob” Booth (1951-2020)

Bob’s love of bonfire came from his parents William and Joyce, who were both members of the society. He was involved from an early age, making torches and fireworks, helping to marshal the parade, and keeping a watchful eye over the bonfire.

Many fond stories have been told of Bob’s hard work, good humour, and contributions to the society as a member and deputy chairman. He was Rye Fawkes in 2018, waving regally to the rain-soaked crowd as he was chaired down from the Landgate in the traditional fashion.

The society was honoured to provide the pall-bearers for the service to commemorate Bob’s life and send their heartfelt condolences to his family.
