Jab on the hill

We were all set to go to New Romney for our vaccination when we had a call from the Rye Medical Centre for Saturday February 13. A one-off session had been organised there to sweep up those 130 of us who were either unable or unwilling to make the journey to Etchingham.

My wife and I were welcomed inside by a volunteer and had the usual details checked with Dr Taggart and his colleague before joining a short queue, in company with people we knew. It was all very friendly. With no waiting time after the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine, we were out again well within 30 minutes, with the assurance that the second dose will also be administered at the same place – don’t call us, we’ll call you. Thank you to the doctors, nurses and volunteers who provided this facility locally.
