To celebrate the launch of the Rye Society of Artists’ (RSA) new website, Rye News continues to profile one of their artists each week – including links to their website and social media accounts so you can keep up-to-date on their activities.

You will also be able to view some of the RSA member’s work at their 70th Anniversary Summer Show later in 2021, date to be confirmed.

This week, the artist in focus is Mike Stott

Mike specialises in etchings using hard and soft grounds, aquatint as well as multiple plate lino-cuts. A career of 40 years as an architect influence the level of detailed drawing he achieves in his work.

Time spent vacationing on the island of Aspö in Sweden, with its beautiful glacial coastline, has provided much subject matter.

You can see more of Mike’s work on Instagram @mikestott43 and on the RSA website
