A charity lunch in aid of Rye Harbour Sailability was held at Playden WI hall on Thursday, July 22, when the Dowager Lady Crabtree was the special guest. She entertained with humorous stories of her life and work, keeping everyone laughing for over an hour.

Although numbers had to be limited to 30 because of Covid-19 restrictions, the lunch raised £309.60 for the charity, which gives people of all ages, with a wide range of disabilities, the opportunity to experience the freedom and fun of sailing with a helmsman and crew. Social secretary Jen Tomkinson said, “Lady Crabtree’s talk was much enjoyed and the money will be a great help when holding one of our sailing days.”
