Andy Dinsdale, who heads Strandliners, feels that with the changing Covid guidelines it is time to start organizing events again, despite that there may be more changes ahead. He will be continuing to assess the situation. The Strandliners wants to achieve cleaner rivers and cleaner seas. Volunteers are encouraged to join in or talk to Andy to find out more.
Plans so far include: Pett LeveI Independent Rescue Boat open day Sunday, August 29 11am – 3pm, Pett Level Road, TN35 4EH, Strandliners will have a micro plastic awareness exhibit and Andy will be happy to talk to people about all things concerning rubbish; September 11/12 or 18/19 there will be a marine conservation society survey walk, 30 to 40 minutes on shingle each way and two to three hours survey activity. The walk will involve a clamber over a four foot wall and boulders. Details can be obtained from strandlinersevents@gmail.com
Towards the end of August, after a busy day in Camber there will be three or four surveys to identify the types of rubbish left by visitors as, sadly, the summer will bring higher numbers who are going to leave their rubbish which will be greater than ever. To book a place use the email above. possibly three or four Sunday evenings, meeting at Harbourmasters Yard for a 6:30pm start, returning 8:30pm/9pm to car park in Camber.
