Jempson’s Peasmarsh superstore played host to a number of bank holiday charity boot fairs this year, which proved very popular and helped to raise a significant amount of money for local good causes.
This year’s car boots attracted hordes of sellers and enthusiastic bargain hunters, with over £1,300 being raised.
All the money from the sales of pitches and collections on the day, were donated to Rye and District Community Transport, Rye and District Day Centre and Rye Hospital. The Easter Monday event was called off due to Covid-19 lockdown restrictions.
Stephen Jempson said “our boot fairs are well established events in the Jempson’s calendar. We take great pleasure in offering our services for the benefit of local good causes and the community overall. Thank you to everyone who attended. We look forward to welcoming even more traders and bargain hunters to next year’s bank holiday events.”
Pat Hughes from Rye and District Community Transport said “It was just lovely! Following lockdown, it was brilliant to see people so happy!”
Rye and District Day Centre’s Bill Coleman said, “We would like to thank Jempson’s for all their support for the day centre, both from these events and their donations at Christmas.”
