Friday, October 1 was bingo evening at the Brewery Yard Club in Landgate, and what a night it was, full of fun from beginning to end. Timberlina, who as Tim is usually in his dungarees gardening or driving the community bus, cooked up an irreverent, unconventional bingo extravaganza. They also performs in London or entertains with songs which are thought provoking and full of environmental concerns, serving up truths the world should take seriously.
The bingo night was hilarious, with jokes throughout, calling numbers at a fast and furious pace, so it was sometimes difficult to mark them. But there were wins and odd presents to be had. The problem the audience did not expect however, was that whoever won had to dance first with Timberlina, before being allowed to choose something. Everyone in the house played their part and fun was had by all.
The Brewery Yard Club is a wonderful venue and has embedded itself in Rye as a real gem of a resource.
It is a flexible, boutique venue which can be hired for any occasion and is centrally located. It has a conference / function room for up to thirty people, video conference facilities, bar and lounge. We had a fantastic time at this gig last week.. we have been to the London version of this and the Rye evening was as good, if not better. Such fun and frolics, just what we need after Lockdown. The BAD news is that the next one (November) is sold out but fingers crossed for the December show…..details below. The Brewery Yard Club is a great venue, too!
