Winchelsea Beach Community Association held a Valentine’s dance, with fish and chip supper, on Saturday, February 12.

The delicious fish and chips were provided by Dean Tarrant, ‘The Flying Fryer’. The music was played by the band ‘Something Else’, who donated their fee for the evening to St Michael’s Hospice and the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.

The community association’s profits for the night will help to fund the planned hall extension which will provide new toilets, to include disabled and baby changing facilities, a storage room and a new front entrance to the hall, with a ramp.

The association’s next event is a spring craft fayre on Sunday, March 20 from 11am – 4pm, with free entry.

For the Queen’s platinum jubilee there will be a jazz afternoon with posh afternoon tea on Friday, June 3 and a dance with fish and chip supper on Saturday, June 4, when dancing will be to ‘The Bellhouse Band’. These events have been part funded by a grant from Rother District Council.

Further information about the community association and events at the hall can be found on the website.
