An evening of Latin music

What could be more fitting for a summer’s evening than a picnic in a park, listening and dancing to the lively sounds of Latin American music?

On Sunday, May 22 from 5pm – 7pm, World in a Garden will take place in Grange Road, Tenterden. Performing are the captivating contemporary Latin quartet, Matices Latinos, who will be playing many folkloric and popular musical genres that characterize Latin American culture.

Led by Colombian singer Luz Elena Caicedo, and musically directed by Venezuelan master percussionist Wilmer Sifontes, their border-hopping style, and percussive approach to the Latin American songbook is an authentic experience full of the colourful, passionate and joyful vibrancy of its many musical genres.  They travel through Latin America taking in the musical styles from countries such as Columbia, Venezuela, Cuba, Peru and Argentina, touching on the different eras of the Latin repertoire, whilst maintaining a fresh and contemporary sound.

Bring your own picnic or sample some delicious specially-prepared Indian snacks including fresh naans, kebabs and other snacks cooked in the tandoor oven, made by a Kent-based chef couple newly arrived from Delhi.

Bring your own rugs and chairs. Toilets are available.
