If you’ve never visited the Ryebank Gallery at 11a High Street, Rye you might be missing out, but don’t worry, because if you can get there before the June 19 you will have the chance to see their inaugural Open Call exhibition.
In January, the Ryebank Gallery had an open call inviting artists to submit their work to be exhibited in the gallery and after an extraordinary response with around 480 submissions they selected 65 artists to exhibit. The works in the exhibition are from all over the world including South Korea, Turkey, India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Malaysia and many from the UK including artists from Rye and Hastings.
The exhibition opened on May 20 with a very busy private view and runs until the 19 June. The open call produced a global response from both established and emergent artists which the panel then had to narrow down to a final selection which cover a broad range of disciplines including painting, drawing, ceramics, graphics, sculpture, glass, embroidery, mixed discipline and photography.
There really is something for everyone at this exhibition and the team at Ryebank Gallery hope you will enjoy visiting this diverse and exciting collection of national and international works of art.
The gallery is open each day (except Thursday) from 10:30am-5:30pm and if you want more information go to www.ryebank.gallery or you can call them on 01797 360259.
