Rye Juniors Enjoy a Busy week

Rye Junior Cricket season continues apace. Last Thursday the Under 13s recorded an exciting victory against Boughton who were 80 off 8 overs before being  restricted to 131-7 off 20 overs. Rye were 69-6 but Ollie Balcomb and Bertie Furnival saw Rye home in 17 overs.

On Friday evening nearly 40 young people attended the Softball Sessions, with a good number of girls who are now moving to the Hardball Sessions, as Rye develop a Girls Section.

On Sunday the Under 11B Team defeated Tenterden Under 11B team, and recorded another victory on Monday night against Mersham Under 11B to sit top of their league. The Under 11A team weakened by school trips etc lost to Ashford Under 11A.

On Tuesday the U15s travelled to Ashford and recorded another victory. Rye scored 94-6 led by Joseph Kemsley, 45. Everybody bowled well to secure a 27 run victory. Whilst at The Salts nearly 30 young people were participating in a 2 hour Practice Session.

Next week the Under 11B travel to play Ashford B, the Under 15s host Folkestone on Tuesday, and on Thursday the U13s travel to play Tenterden.
