Rye Lawn Tennis Club (RLTC) will be holding their annual opera concert on Saturday, December 3, and for the first time, this will take place at the Rye Creative Centre.

In this, the 13th year the event has taken place, RLTC will be celebrating the club’s centenary and are hoping to mark the occasion with a special evening of opera. All the artists performing are members or alumni of the Jette Parker section of the Royal Opera House, and the event will include a selection of well-known and popular arias and ensembles.

Among the artists scheduled to perform are British pianist and conductor Oliver Gooch, a regular with the Royal Opera House who has also worked with Opera North, Glyndebourne, London Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia, Halle, and the Royal Philharmonic, with which he appears regularly as guest conductor.

Haegee Lee, the South Korean soprano and Monika-Evelin Liiv, the Estonian mezzo, have both sung for the RLTC in previous years and will return along with Russian tenor Egor Zhuravski, and South African baritone, Chuma Sijeqa.

Tickets are on sale at £50 each and will include drinks, canapes and programmes. Any profits will go towards the RLTC appeal fund to help pay for additional courts at the non-profit making club which is open to all.
