Dale Chihuly The World’s Foremost Glass Artist
You are invited to an illustrated talk on Dale Chihuly. If you think you haven’t heard of this foremost glass artist, you may still be familiar with the wonderful “Rotunda” chandelier in the V & A Museum, this was created by Dale Chihuly.
Dale is an American artist whose glass structures led to a resurgence of interest in this medium. He studied different art forms at various universities. Notably at a university in Wisconsin he studied glassblowing under Harvey Littleton, who is considered the father of the studio glass movement in the United States. He worked and studied at Venini Fabrica, the renowned glassblowing workshop in Murano near Venice.
The Chihuly Garden and Glass is a museum in the Seattle showcasing the studio glass of Dale Chihuly. The talk to be given by Charles Hajdamach will give you greater insight into his various famous works.
