Looking forward to the summer

This Sunday, January 29, Rye Cricket Club looks forward to a celebratory summer, as it enjoys its 270th season of cricket in Rye. At 7:30pm the club is holding its AGM in the cricket pavilion. This is preceded at 6pm-7pm by a meeting for parents and carers of the junior section.

The club will be sharing its plans for the season which include the cricket week in August, and the establishment of a girls’ section.

The club would also like to congratulate the success of members of the junior section who have been selected for representative cricket by Kent. These are under 11, Bertie Furnival; under 13, Henry Cooke and Freddie Furnival; and under 14, Oscar Wincott-Stone

The Juniors return to coaching in March.

Details are:

Thursday March 2 for eight weeks
6pm-7pm, school years 5-6 hardball cricket
7pm-8pm, school years 7-11 hardball cricket

Tuesday March 7 for eight weeks
6pm–7pm, softball introductory sessions
7pm-8pm, girls’ cricket

The venue is Rye Sports Centre.

The cost is £40 but for new participants, the first two weeks is no charge, total cost £30.
