We couldn’t wish for a more special event than an all-Schubert programme to be held at Fairlight Hall Gardens & Recital Room on Sunday, June 11 at 11am with Karla Grant, soprano and Sholto Kynoch, piano, the last Oxford Lieder concert of the season.
We welcome the Scottish soprano Karla Grant, a recent Oxford Lieder Young Artist who gave a sensational showcase recital at the Oxford Lieder Spring Weekend last month. She joins pianist Sholto Kynoch for this programme that includes some of Schubert’s best-loved songs and his evergreen Moments Musicaux for solo piano. From Goethe’s take on the myth of Ganymed and Zeus, to witty-but-cautionary tales of seduction, to a great hymn to the moon, Schubert brings every word to life with his unique ability express the gamut of human emotion through his music.
PROGRAMME:
Ganymed
Heimliches lieben
Die Blumensprache
Die Männer sind méchant
Erster Verlust
An die laute

An den Mond in einer Herbstnacht
Moments Musicaux
As always, they will introduce the songs during the concert, and there will be delicious cake and coffee at the end, making for an ideal Sunday morning!
