After returning from a shout there is a great deal to do. Cleaning the boats, the lifeboat station and all the equipment is essential and needs to be carried out to the highest possible standard. This is why the RNLI has partnered with Kärcher, the world’s leading experts in cleaning, to enable these tasks to be done more efficiently.

Kärcher will be providing all the RNLI’s 238 lifeboat stations around the UK and Ireland with cleaning equipment, including professional-grade pressure washers and other important cleaning appliances supporting vital maintenance at every location.

Kärcher is supporting the partnership by running a number of fundraising activities and sales promotions throughout the partnership to raise vital funds to help the RNLI continue saving lives at sea, as well as providing cleaning equipment. The firm is also committed to supporting the charity’s drowning prevention mission by raising awareness and sharing water-safety messaging.

John Payne, director for lifesaving operations at the RNLI comments: “The RNLI is delighted to announce this partnership with Kärcher, a highly-respected and trusted company. This new alliance will help us to reach even more people with our water-safety messaging, by providing quality cleaning equipment to our crew. Kärcher’s efficient equipment will save RNLI volunteers’ time and continue to ensure that lifeboats are ready to launch to those in trouble at sea.”

Luke Stirling from Kärcher came to RNLI Rye Harbour on Wednesday, July 19 to deliver the cleaning kit and give a demonstration of how each piece worked. Jack and Martin were on hand to demonstrate the equipment once they had had their training.

Paul Bolton, lifeboat operations manager, said that the equipment would enable the station to keep on top of the deep cleaning more easily now and using Kärcher equipment would not only help the crew save time doing the cleaning; they would also know that it was being done to the highest of standards.
