Visitors to Rye are essential and throughout the year they come and go, drawn by the magnetism of all that Rye has to offer. They come in groups to celebrate a special occasion, get married here, couples spend their weekends here, students and many foreign visitors come to experience our social history, heritage and architecture.
Rye is a mecca for all and over the years has attracted the rich and famous, stars of stage and screen, philanthropists, entrepreneurs, musicians, writers, artists, artisans and probably every element of our diverse society.
But, correct me if I’m wrong, is this the first time we have witnessed a naked cyclist in Rye?
After a little bit of investigation it appears the gentleman in the photograph is a Hastings local, Richard Alexander Collins, a confirmed and lifelong naturist to whom cycling naked comes naturally.
