Lonestar Comedy nights are set to make a sparkling return to The George in Rye next Friday, November 10. This marks a significant milestone as the event comes back for regular shows to its spiritual home for good after a devastating fire at The George in 2019.
Jane Brook, proprietor of the Brewery Yard Club will be at The George to welcome customers on the door and is excited to help facilitate the return. She reflects on the last three years: ”The Brewery Yard Club, which has been my creative project since 2018 and has hosted over 250 incredible events including the comedy nights after the fire, will be closing its doors in the new year, making way for flats. There is a great sadness in my heart about losing the Brewery Yard Club for the community. However, life moves on and so does business.
“We’ve had an absolute blast hosting and working with Lonestar Comedy over the years and as we bid farewell to this fabulous venue, we celebrate the resilience and spirit of The George. The return of the comedy nights represents a homecoming and restoration of laughter for the community in their magnificent ballroom. I am delighted to be able to work with the team to help the transition and to continue to preserve the night time economy of Rye.”
The event on November 10 promises an evening of side-splitting humour and warm memories. Join the BYC in welcoming back Lonestar Comedy nights to The George in Rye, a collaboration of resilience and community spirit.
