How have you been embracing April? Is April a time to review our goals and life through a different lens? Or, can we action tasks in readiness for the transition into summer?
Spring is infused with fragrance, trees bursting with sprouting leaves and flowers
proudly displaying their finest blooms. A season methinks of rejuvenation, or do
we need to reassess what we have already started?
Will we rediscover the joy of writing and uncover the perfect jewels of words to
enrich our work? And with that thought, my poem for April.
Falling in Like with April
Meet me in the landscape,
where the sun shines bright,
Its rays gently kiss my face.
And stir the hibernating animals awake.
Where spring flowers bloom,
Helleborus in hues of green white and plum.
Blackbirds, serenade us through the day.
While queen bees hum, heading on their way.
And not a hint of April showers in sight.
While we sleep, fairies appear,
Painting sharp colours of sky, and sea, crystal clear,
creating a new energy.
We awake, refreshed.
Inspired to garden in morning light.
Brimming with inspiration,
Thoughts, and words, take flight.
Give gratitude for this time of renewal,
Regrowth, and breathing cleaner air.
Give life to our reading.
For reading is at the heart of conversation
Threading and weaving our collective stories.
Sharing the literature we love.
This is also the season to add colour to our lives and into our writing. Why not explore new authors and bring their storytelling to life.

Daughters of War by Dinah Jefferies
Dinah Jeffries novels have descriptions that almost become characters. Daughters of War is set in France during the occupation by Germany in the second world war. A deeply moving story – it’s a brutal and pull at the heartstring’s tale.
