The Music Well held their annual Open Garden on Saturday July 18 at Little Orchard House, Rye.  The weather was again kind as it has been for the last five years for this event and there was live music provided by The Music Well singers, the Rye Ukulele Experiment group, the Stupid Fonts, a drum circle and The Music Well Band.
There was never a quiet moment during the day, framed as it was by Niki and Andy Stuart’s wonderful garden and a steady stream of visitors helped us raise just over £650, so thank you to everyone who contributed to making this such a successful event.
The Music Well is now busy providing a music therapy service to children and adults in the community, both in schools, colleges and day centres. We also provide Singing for Wellbeing every week, improvisation groups, gong bath meditations, drumming and workshops. Mary’s Fund in memory of little Mary Shipstone is now providing music therapy sessions for children who are living in fearful circumstances.
We are thrilled to have recently received a Lottery grant to provide iPad music technology to support people with Dementia in our community. Watch this space for more news and information and whether you know someone who might benefit from our activities.  Please contact us on 01797 226330 or email enquiries@themusicwell.org.uk.
