Rye Bay Crew came about when old school friends, Jonathan Breeds (now Deputy Mayor of Rye and wearing chef’s hat above) and Rebekah Gilbert (now also a Town Councillor, and on left), started to sing together again, having left Thomas Peacocke School to train in Performing Arts and Classical Music in London. Singing everything from Bach to Bacharach they have given many performances locally and have great success singing shanties and maritime music, performing at Tentertainment and across the border in Kent at a number of venues from pubs to churches and festival stages. These versatile performers are joined by fellow Crew members tenor Andi Rivett (another Town Councillor, wearing white shirt above) and Helen Ridout (not pictured) on the keyboard on Friday September 18 from around 8-10:30pm at the Queen’s Head, Landgate as the “Kings of Swing”.(Source: Rebekah Gilbert)
