Tilling Green Community Centre is set to host a Recruitment Day and Work Training Roadshow on July 9.
Running from 1pm to 4pm, the combined event will also see Family Mosaic recruiting for 600 vacancies within Hastings and Rother. Application forms will be available to complete on the day, followed by the offer of a light touch interview. Local supermarket Jempson’s will also be recruiting for its local stores while also offering light touch interviews on the day.
The Rye Partnership rural employability project has been linking work and training roadshow events with local businesses, which to date include Jempson’s, The Gallivant Hotel, Pontins, and Family Mosaic.
The roadshow invites local people who are interested in work and training opportunities, and improving their employment prospects. Information and advice will also be available from the Job Centre Plus’s rural advisors, the National Careers Service, Sussex Coast College Hastings, Own Grown (promoting apprenticeships), Finding Futures dyslexia screening, Rother Voluntary Action volunteer hub, and The Rye Partnership Community Learning.
The rural employability project aims to bring much needed local work club services and employment-focussed training to the rural area while also promoting local recruitment. The project is funded by the Department for Work and Pensions flexible support fund.
Anyone keen to improve their employability but concerned that dyslexia or poor literacy skills are a barrier should seek out Finding Futures, which offers dyslexia screening and support as part of the project.
