Following the recent wet weather in the area football has been severely affected with Beckley Rangers Eagles u18s already 4 league games behind some of there rivals in the Crowborough & District Junior Football League. The club recently had to play their home league cup quarter final tie away on a 3G pitch after 2 attempts to play the game at home were thwarted due to bad weather.

This weekend weather permitting sees the Eagles travel away to face Sedlescombe in the Crowborough and a District junior football league cup semi final. If the cup game is postponed it will keep being rescheduled for the following weekend until it is played meaning a further backlog of games in the league.

Icklesham casuals fixtures have also been hit, although with both Icklesham teams not badly off compared to many other sides. The 1st team, who haven’t played since the 12th December, have eight league games left to play and the 2nd team have six left and both teams are also still in one cup competition. David Mayne said. “the pitch at Icklesham is so wet it is difficult to know when the team will be able to play again”.

Icklesham are fairly lucky as there are some clubs in the East Sussex Football league who still have fourteen league games left and are still in cups competitions as well.

We will continue to report on both clubs once there league seasons resume.
