The Elysian centre’s owner Maxine Harrison was delighted that their first Christmas market proved to be such a success marked by a constant stream of visitors throughout Saturday November 19. Shoppers were treated to wonderful photos by photographers Lou Newsholme and Desi Fontaine as well as Mary Foster’s quirkily humorous Yumpti range of cards and gifts.

In addition there was a fantastic display of silver and pewter items by award-winning silversmith Gill Bridgestock, a member of the Association of Pewter Craftsmen, and seamstress Julie Rapley had a sumptuous array of throws, quilts and cushions from ‘Stitches and Stuffing’. And among the wonderful gifts on sale was a collection of botanically inspired Arbonne cosmetics and skincare products presented by Sara Graham-Hunt. The delicious mince pies and fruit punch got everyone in the Christmas spirit and added to the enthusiastic response to the centre’s first yuletide event.
