Rye Town FC looks likely to win the first of two cup competitions as the team faces Sedlescombe Rangers II in the final of the Hastings FA Junior Cup final at The Pilot Field, Hastings, this Monday, April 24. The kick off is at 7:30pm.
Rye’s route to final began in round one where players defeated Orington 6-3. In round two they received a bye after Pebsham Sibex were unable to raise a side and in the third round Bexhill Rovers were beaten 4-3 before Bexhill Utd were brushed aside 5-0 in the semi final. Rye’s top goalscorer in the competition is Alfie Weller with five goals closely followed by Chris Gould with three goals.
Sedlescombe’s route to the final saw the team enter the competition in round two where it defeated Northiam 75 1-0. In round three it received a bye after opponents Little Common were unable to raise a team and then Crowhurst were defeated 2-1 in the semi-final.
Rye will then start to prepare for the Robertsbridge Charity Cup Final which is being held on Monday May 1 against Bexhill AAC.
