Saturday December 2 is Christmas Fair time again in Rye’s parish church St Mary’s at the top of Lion Street from 10am and as usual there will be lots of stalls from a variety of organisations.

These include Rye Memorial Hospital, Playden and Landgate Women’s Institutes, Tradecraft, Rye Bonfire Society, the Mothers’ Union, the Bible Society, St Mary’s Knitters, Messy Church and Parkinsons UK – and, no doubt, more will be added to the list at the last minute.

Expect to find books, bottles, cakes, and raffle prizes among the offerings as well as refreshments. As the photo above shows the Norman church becomes home for a range of impromptu stalls among the pews and aisles.
