The next talk at East Street Museum will be on Thursday March 8 starting prompt at 7:30pm. The talk is entitled ‘From Pottery to Potting Shed’ by Chris O’Donaghue. Chris tells the story of how his career has developed over the years. The talk starts with his early days as a thrower at Poole Pottery, his time running a ceramics business in Rye and then comes up to date with his garden design and restoration work. Chris is a three times winner of Chelsea show gardens having won a silver and two silver gilt medals. The talk is followed by light refreshments – tea and coffee and a raffle . £3 members – £4 Non-members. Non-members welcome.
All profits help support the running costs of the museum.
The Museum at East Street is gearing up for its re-opening at Easter on March 31. The ‘Muses,’ ladies of the museum, will be doing a Spring clean on Monday March 5. All the artefacts , shelves and cabinets are dusted. The whole museum is given a thorough clean ready to welcome visitors over the season.
