Get building your raft

Yes, it’s time to announce the date of the next Rye Festival of the Sea: Sunday September 9, from 11am-5pm.
The organising committee has spent hours poring over tide tables to find a date on which the tides are good for the raft race but which does not clash with other events in the area.
Feedback from last year also suggested that a Sunday would be preferred.
We are looking forward to receiving applications for the raft race and, as last year, entry forms will be on the website. Sponsored again by Rock Channel Marine, the event will start at 11:15am from Monkbretton Bridge, followed by a parade to the Strand for all those who took part  for the presentation of prizes.
We also hope to have lots of teams for the Tug of War, once again sponsored by Rye News, full details will be on the website.
There will be music, stalls, demonstrations and Pugwash readings from the Town Crier at the Heritage Centre.
If you would like to get involved please do contact us.
