After a winter break, jazz returns to The Mermaid on Thursday March 29, the perfect way to start the Easter Break.
For well over 40 years bass player David Silk has been running and hosting an exciting array of unique jazz-based events with a wide and varied roster of musicians and artists, and actively encourages newer artists onto the jazz scene.
In 2018 David and his many friends will entertain at The Mermaid on the final Thursday of each month to share their love and excitement of jazz. He worked at the BBC for 32 years, and has invited many friends to join him during 2018. This month, special guest Karl Charity joins the regulars of Roger Lewin (piano), Dave Silk (bass), and Jacci Norris (vocals), for the jazz supper at The Mermaid. Karl studied trumpet at the Royal College of Music and began his professional career performing in pit bands. He has performed at many well-known jazz venues and festivals including The Pheasantry and Jazz After Dark, and in 2013 appeared in the West End show “Soul Sister” at The Savoy Theatre. Pianist Roger is one of the South East’s most sought after piano/keyboard players and performs regularly as a pianist in many of London’s finest hotels including The Savoy, Claridges, The Dorchester and The Waldorf Hilton.
Tickets are £25 including a two course Supper, and £10 for non-diners. Contact The Mermaid on 01797 223065 or email: info@mermaidinn.com
