Three “old wheelers”, Paul Simpson, Ralph Sperring and Kevin Beale, will be cycling to Paris in June for charity. The three members of Rye and District Wheelers cycle club are making the trip to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK.
“More and more men are suffering from prostate cancer, some are our friends” said Ralph Sperring. “More funds are needed to raise awareness of this cancer so it can be identified in its early stages. Equally, more funds are also needed to research better cures for the disease.”
The cyclists have set up a Facebook and Just Giving page and are currently a quarter of the way to reaching their £1,000 target.
The Rye and District Wheelers can date their lineage back to 1881 and you can read more about their fascinating history on their website.
