Male pride was dented when Rye & District Lions held their annual men versus ladies skittles competition at The Kings Head in Udimore. The result was a resounding win for the ladies. The men started well, being ahead at the halfway stage, but the refreshment stop for burger and chips plus a couple of pints of ale seemed to affect their concentration. The ladies stormed ahead in the second half to win by 288 to 284. Top scorers for the ladies were Jean Kemp with 34 and Lions President Sue Clay with 31. Best for the men was a gallant effort of 33 by Martin Carree.
