Mary Shelley [12A] 121 mins
The tempestuous romance that inspired one of Gothic literature’s most influential works is brought to life in a luscious and moving period drama starring Elle Fanning as the radical young writer, with Douglas Booth, Bel Powley and Maisie Williams. Directed by Saudi Arabia’s first female filmmaker, Haifaa al-Mansour (Wadjda), it’s a vivid tribute to Shelley’s passion, courage and craft – and a reminder of her enduring relevance today.

Everyone’s favourite family of superheroes is back in Incredibles 2 but this time Helen is in the spotlight, leaving Bob at home with Violet and Dash to navigate the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life. It’s a tough transition for everyone, made tougher by the fact that the family is still unaware of baby Jack-Jack’s emerging superpowers. With the voices of Holly Hunter, Sarah Vowell, Huck Milner, Craig T Nelson and Samuel L Jackson.
Swimming With Men [12A] 97 mins
Eric is tired of his accountancy job and feels that his wife neither loves nor respects him. When he observes a group of men practising synchronized swimming during his usual swim training and obviously missing a member, he is quickly accepted into the team. A light-hearted British comedy starring Rob Brydon, Charlotte Riley, Rupert Graves, Jim Carter, Daniel Mays, Nathaniel Parker, Thomas Turgoose, Jane Horrocks, Peter Coe, Adfeel Akhtar and Steve Carroll.
Sicario 2: Soldado [15] 122 mins
In the drug war, there are no rules – and as the cartels have begun trafficking terrorists across the US border, federal agent Matt Graver calls on the mysterious Alejandro, whose family was murdered by a cartel kingpin, to escalate the war in nefarious ways. Alejandro kidnaps the kingpin’s daughter to inflame the conflict but when the girl is seen as collateral damage, her fate will come between the two men as they question everything they are fighting for. Starring Benicio Del Toro, Josh Brolin, Catherine Keener, Christopher Heyerdahl, Matthew Modine and Isabela Moner.
The Bookshop [PG] 113 mins
Florence Green, a free-spirited widow, puts grief behind her and risks everything to open up a bookshop – the first such shop in the sleepy seaside town of Hardborough, England. But this mini social revolution soon brings her fierce enemies and hostility from the town’s less prosperous shopkeepers and the formidable Mrs Gamart, doyenne of the local arts scene. Starring Emily Mortimer, Bill Nighy and Patricia Clarkson.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2D) [12A] 128 mins
It’s been three years since Jurassic World was destroyed by the dinosaurs. Isla Nublar now sits abandoned by humans while the surviving dinosaurs fend for themselves in the jungles. When the island’s dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen and Claire mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs, but encounter terrifying new breeds of gigantic dinosaurs and a conspiracy that threatens the entire planet. Starring Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Toby Jones and Jeff Goldblum.
