Jeake’s House, a cult destination

It’s a pleasure to be able to report yet another good news story for Rye and a well deserved recognition for Jeake’s House, one of Rye’s most popular and established hotels and another great accolade for the hospitality and catering industry in Rye.

Owner Jenny Hadfield is “delighted we were featured in the Financial Times HTSI Travel supplement ‘World’s best Home from Home Hotels’. Glad to hear that our breakfast fare is not for the faint hearted and that our eccentricities have made it something of a cult destination. This is much more descriptive than being ‘quirky’ as we were described by the Good Hotel Guide.”

The article commented: ” Breakfast transports guests to the Victorian era and it’s not for the faint of heart: devilled kidneys on buttered toast and heady oak smoked haddock with poached eggs (there is also a full English). Its eccentricities have made it something of a cult destination. When I stayed last December, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Martin McDonagh came down to breakfast in the morning.”

Rooms from £105.
