There are plenty of important local topics for debate and discussion at the moment and by going to the regular meetings of our Rye Town Council you can easily keep in touch with what’s going on and what’s being done about it. The meetings are open to anyone to attend and held at the town hall. You can register online at www.ryetowncouncil.gov.uk for further information and free updates.
In addition, once a year there is the annual town meeting which this year is on Wednesday, March 6 at Rye Community Centre on Conduit Hill, Rye, TN31 7LE. Registration is from 6:30pm with the meeting starting at 7pm
Programme
- Our mayor, Councillor Andi Rivett will open the meeting with his overview of the year followed by
- Rye Leisure Centre and pool update: Barry Nealon and Rebekah Gilbert; Rye Recreation and Wellbeing CIO
- Updates on the Rye Neighbourhood Plan and Resilience: Colonel Anthony Kimber
- Rye Heritage Centre: Simon Parsons
There then follows an open session when you have the opportunity to voice your questions, concerns and issues. This is your opportunity to meet with your town, district and county councillors and discuss issues affecting the town with them and other parishioners. The meeting will be a success if we all come along and show our support. Rye News will be covering the event and we hope to see you there.
